Italy First Win in World Cup 2014 Qualification

Italy won against Malta in WC2014 Qualification by 2-0, this victory is important result for the Azzuri after hold by Bulgaria in the first match. With this result Italy secure the first position in Group B,Malta is one of the weak member in group B with Armenia. Rep Ceko and Denmark also join in this Group.

As predicted before Prandelli use 4-3-1-2 formation in this match, Destro managed to scored in 4th minute after receiving a superb assist from Marchisio. However left by a goal didn't change Malta's strategy whom was playing defensively by placing all the players in the defensive line and 1 man to cover the Italian Playmaker Andrea Pirlo for the entire match.

Italy still hard to get another goal after Destro's early goal, this situation make Prandelli change the formation into 4-3-3, Insigne replace Diamanti who was not played well. This formation make Italy plays more organized, however they managed to get second goal in the injury time. Starting from Pirlo's corner Peluso managed to get a header, the ball hits the Malta's defender that makes the keeper anticipate into wrong direction 2-0 for Italy
