His fans loves him and built a statue of him but torn down when he was decided to moved to Roma. Gabriel Omar Batistuta,the Argentinian Goal Machine. Started his football career in Argentina with Newell's Old Boys,River Plate and Boca Juniors during 1988-1991 before joint to the club which raise his name Fiorentina for nine years. La Violla loves him so much played 269 match scored 168 goals, Batistuta become an icon for La Violla.
However, his desires to winning scudetto made him accept Fabio Capello invitation to moved to AS Roma in 2000.
His decision was angered La Violla fans, but this decision was not easy for himself neither. It has been proven when he scores goal against Fiorentina he did not celebrate.
Batistuta's decision was not in vain,Roma claims the scudetto in 2000-2001, his very first scudetto title in 10 years Serie A career.In that year Batistuta also winning Coppa Italia title with Roma.
Playing for Roma for 3 years,Batistuta moved to Inter in 2003 on loan,then Batistuta moved to Qatar league with Al Arabi before retired from his football carerr in 2005.
